Understanding the Analysis

📊
Complete Historical Coverage
Every possible 10-year window analyzed

We analyze every possible 10-year period in Bitcoin's history, starting from the earliest available data. This gives you a comprehensive view of how the BTC Now installment plan strategy would have performed in all market conditions.

🔮
Projected Periods
Recent periods with growth projections

For periods that started less than 10 years ago, we project the remaining months using your selected annual growth rate. This shows potential outcomes if Bitcoin continues growing at that rate. Projected periods appear faded in the chart.

📈
Why BTC Now Often Wins
The power of buying Bitcoin upfront

BTC Now locks in Bitcoin at today's price, so you benefit from the full 10 years of price appreciation. DCA spreads purchases over time, so you buy at many different prices. During Bitcoin's long-term growth trend, buying earlier typically wins.

⚠️
When DCA Wins
Bear markets and price corrections

DCA performs better when Bitcoin's price declines or moves sideways after your purchase. By spreading purchases over time, DCA buys more Bitcoin during price dips. However, these periods have been less common in Bitcoin's history.

Analysis Methodology
How we calculate historical comparisons

BTC Now Strategy

We calculate how much Bitcoin you could purchase upfront with an installment plan at 15% APR, given your monthly payment budget. This Bitcoin is locked in at the starting period's price, and you make fixed monthly payments over 10 years.

DCA Strategy

We simulate buying Bitcoin each month with the same monthly payment, using actual historical prices for each month. This shows how much Bitcoin you would have accumulated through dollar-cost averaging.

Complete vs Projected Periods

Complete periods use 100% actual historical data for the full 10 years. Projected periods combine actual data with price projections using compound annual growth (CAGR) to simulate complete 10-year outcomes. The cutoff date is 10 years ago from today.

Data Source

Historical Bitcoin prices are sourced from CoinGecko and stored in our database. We use monthly average prices to smooth out short-term volatility and provide consistent comparisons across all periods.
